Planit-Merseyside
PlanIt Merseyside is a new interactive learning &
development tool designed to raise awareness, knowledge and
partnerships covering issues around sustainable development. It
forms part of the Merseyside Capacity Building programme (funded by
NWIN). The mains aims are
- Internal & external partnership development.
- Internal & external collaborative working,
- Strategic & service level decision-making
- Raise awareness and understanding of sustainable development
and sustainable communities.
Using interactive computer software PlanIt Merseyside will
deliver several mixed group workshops to all Local Authorities and
LSP members on Merseyside. Workshops will cover topics
including Local Area Agreement (LAA), sustainable communities, and
sustainable governance. The benefits of these
interactive workshops are many and include encouraging the breaking
down of 'silos' mentality while understanding the potential
primary, secondary and tertiary impacts of strategic decision. The
collaborative working of delegates ensures that departments and
organisation with similar targets and objectives are aware of each
other and the potential of resource sharing.
It is anticipated that delivering workshops to mixed groups
from across Merseyside will encourage sub-regional working,
networking and joint strategy making. The learning simulation
also provides an intriguing laboratory where delegates can review
and better understand how their behaviours impact on performance
and collaborative working.
